We woke up early, had breakfast and packed our bags. We were leaving the boat, but there was still a couple of sites to see: Aswan High dam and the temple on Philae island.
The Aswan dam was interesting, but certainly not the highest dam I've seen at 364 feet high. The gentle sloping nature of the dam disguised it's height. The Flaming Gorge dam in Utah at 502 feet, with a shear face, struck fear into my heart to look over the edge. The Glenn Canyon dam in Utah is 710 feet high. The Aswan experience was pleasant.

This temple is located on an island and requires a boat ride to visit. Here we go.
It's Back To Civilization
Conclusion
People have written volumes about what we saw and experienced. The overwhelming grandeur, the sights of everyday living, the smells of real life happening around us are beyond my ability to describe. It was truly an adventure of a lifetime. Still, I'd be less than honest if I didn't say it felt nice to board the plane for the trip back to Cairo. It was time to go home.
For the record, our tour guide for this trip and sites around Cairo has been awesome. He's become a wonderful friend. He deserves an unabashed plug for his tour guide business.

Well, you just provided an hour of entertainment for our boys, on our trip up to Jackson Hole. They loved the stories and pictures. They thought the tendon coming out of your arm and the vendors putting the shirt on your arm were hilarious. What an adventure!
